TERMS & CONDITIONS GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR CLEANING OF CARPET & UPHOLSTERY A1 refers to "A1 Carpet Cleaning" or "A1 Carpet Cleaning" A1 cannot guarantee that all stains will be removed upon cleaning. Stains derived from caustics, acids and permanent dyes may be permanent stains that cannot be removed. Further, A1 cannot be responsible for any pre-existing conditions that are not apparent upon visual inspection. These conditions may include but are not limited to: Fugitive dyes not properly set in manufacture or re-dyeing Lounge suites that have water or solvent soluble coloured backing material Carpet that has been over-stretched during laying or suffers from de-lamination Carpet that has suffered sun-damage, making it fragile or affecting dye colour The use of high alkaline cleaning solutions or other products that may unset dyes in the fibres of the carpet or upholstery Markers used on carpet, fabric backing or padding. A minimum call out fee of $170 applies and a travel charge may be added dependant on distance. SPECIFIC SERVICE INFORMATION Carpet Cleaning Prices are subject to a maximum room size of 12 square metres. Stairs are quoted per step. Prices are subject to the condition of the carpet. Difficult stains may incur an additional charge. All jobs are subject to inspection and the decision to proceed is at the discretion of A1. Upholstery Price is per seating position and subject to the condition of the upholstery. Maximum width of a seating position is 80cm. A seating position wider than 80cm will incur an additional charge. Additional charges may apply for recliners, ottomans and chaises. Leather upholstery is subject to additional charges. Cleaning Limitations The technician will explain the limits of what can be accomplished during the initial call and on-site inspection phase of the job. A1 can not be held responsible for pre-existing problems that were not divulged or were evident during the inspection. Some issues may not necessarily be evident until after the cleaning process has been completed, such as bodily fluid contamination or odours. Soiling which has penetrated the carpet backing and involves the underlay and sub-floor is unable to be successfully treated. Bodily fluids including urine, faeces, blood and vomit may result in damage beyond the carpet layer and may require lifting of the carpet and replacement of the underlay and treatment of the sub-floor. In some circumstances, the sub-floor may require extensive treatment, up to and including replacement eg. floorboards. Some stains are permanent and cannot be chemically reversed. Food / drink food colourings can permanently dye carpet fibres. Work is performed on a best effort basis only and no guarantee or liability is implied. The construction and fibre type can also have a bearing on the outcome of the cleaning process. Polypropylene carpets, as they wear, become dull, particularly in high traffic areas and give the impression of being soiled. They also are prone to friction damage due to the low melting point, resulting in scuff damage caused by furniture movement and heavy foot traffic. Furniture Furniture will only be moved if deemed able by the technician. In particular, beds will only be moved if they are either single or on castors and only if in good condition and there is sufficient space in the room to allow movement. If the bed has been loaded up with other furniture or heavy items, it will not be moved. Furniture that is usually never moved such as bookcases and display cabinets will not be moved. It is the owners responsibility to move personal items out of the way to allow access to the carpet. Electrical equipment including live extension cords will require relocation if the carpet in the vicinity is to be cleaned to avoid damage and possible electric shock to the technician. Computers and other related hardware must be relocated from the carpet if the carpet in the general area is to be cleaned. It may be necessary to relocate some furniture which has bare timber contact with the carpet to avoid permanent timber staining. Pest Control (Flea treatment) The life cycle of fleas consists of 1. eggs, 2. larva, 3. pupa, 4. adult. Due to the life cycle of fleas, it is understood that flea treatment, at end of lease, can only kill currently live adult fleas and larva. Any pupa present are impervious to insecticides and are only killed once they hatch. The sprayed insecticide must remain undisturbed for at least 7 - 10 days, to allow the chemicals to kill any newly hatched fleas. Further infestation will require treatment, which can take up to 8 months, at additional cost. The cat flea is the most common type of flea and even though it will bite humans, it cannot breed or survive without a host animal ie. dog or cat. At the start of a new lease, fleas may hatch and if there is a new host animal, the best course of treatment for eradication is to treat the animal rather than re-spray the property. A fact sheet is provided to the customer which provides information for the new tenant. Post treatment responsibilities are unable to be guaranteed and therefore further treatment is the responsibility of the owner, property manager or the new tenant. GENERAL INFORMATION Payment Methods Payment is required, prior to or on the day of service, unless arranged and approved in advance. Payment can be either cash, cheque or credit card. End of lease or move out cleans require payment by cash or credit card. In the event that payment is not made according to our payment terms and we take action to recover the debt, then you, the client, shall be liable for all costs associated with recovering the debt including, but not limited to, legal costs and debt recovery costs If payment is made by Credit Card and the transaction cannot be completed for any reason, then payment will be considered to be 'On Account' per the Terms and Conditions of the Invoice. If an account has been set up and payment is not made by the due date, or payment is dishonoured or otherwise, A1 reserves the right to charge a reasonable Administration Fee, in addition to all other costs associated with recovering the debt including, but not limited to, legal costs and debt recovery costs. Cancellation Fees and Surcharges A1 reserves the right to charge customers a cancellation fee (minimum of $75) if 48 hours is not given for the cancellation of the booking. Surcharges may be charged on jobs booked for weekends, after hours or public holidays; in multi level apartment blocks or when more than one operator is required. It is the responsibility of you, the client, to organise parking for our technician. Accordingly, any costs for parking will be added to the invoice along with a surcharge if parking is not available within a short distance. In the event of the Customer being in default of his obligation to pay and the overdue account is then referred to a debt collection agency, and/or law firm for collection, the customer shall be liable for the recovery costs incurred and if the agency charges commission on a contingency basis the customer shall be liable to pay as a liquidated debt, the commission payable by the supplier to the agency, fixed at the rate charged by the agency from time to time as if the agency has achieved one hundred per cent recovery and the following formula shall apply. Commission = { Original Debt / {100 – Commission % charged by the agency (including GST) } } In the event where the agency is Prushka Fast Debt Recovery the applicable commission rate for the amount unpaid is as detailed on www.prushka.com.au.
