General Conditions for Cleaning of Carpet & Upholstery
"A1" refers to "A1 Carpet Cleaning" (ABN 60 394 170 297). A1 cannot guarantee that all stains will be removed upon cleaning. Stains derived from caustics, acids and permanent dyes may be permanent stains that cannot be removed. Further, A1 cannot be responsible for any pre-existing conditions that are not apparent upon visual inspection. These conditions may include but are not limited to:
Fugitive dyes not properly set in manufacture or re-dyeing · Lounge suites that have water or solvent soluble coloured backing material · Carpet that has been over-stretched during laying or suffers from de-lamination · Carpet that has suffered sun-damage, making it fragile or affecting dye colour · The use of high alkaline cleaning solutions or other products that may unset dyes in the fibres of the carpet or upholstery · Markers used on carpet, fabric backing or padding.
A minimum call out fee of $180 applies and a travel charge may be added dependent on distance.

Prices are subject to a maximum room size of 12 square metres. Stairs are quoted per step. Prices are subject to the condition of the carpet. Difficult stains may incur an additional charge. All jobs are subject to inspection and the decision to proceed is at the discretion of A1.
Upholstery
Price is per seating position and subject to the condition of the upholstery. Maximum width of a seating position is 80cm. A seating position wider than 80cm will incur an additional charge. Additional charges may apply for recliners, ottomans and chaises. Leather upholstery is subject to additional charges.
Cleaning Limitations
The technician will explain the limits of what can be accomplished during the initial call and on-site inspection phase of the job. A1 cannot be held responsible for pre-existing problems that were not divulged or were evident during the inspection.
Soiling which has penetrated the carpet backing and involves the underlay and sub-floor is unable to be successfully treated. Bodily fluids including urine, faeces, blood and vomit may result in damage beyond the carpet layer and may require lifting of the carpet and replacement of the underlay and treatment of the sub-floor.
Some stains are permanent and cannot be chemically reversed. Food/drink food colourings can permanently dye carpet fibres. Work is performed on a best effort basis only and no guarantee or liability is implied.
Polypropylene carpets, as they wear, become dull particularly in high traffic areas and give the impression of being soiled. They are also prone to friction damage due to the low melting point, resulting in scuff damage caused by furniture movement and heavy foot traffic.
Furniture
Furniture will only be moved if deemed able by the technician. Beds will only be moved if they are either single or on castors and only if in good condition and there is sufficient space in the room to allow movement. Furniture that is usually never moved such as bookcases and display cabinets will not be moved. It is the owner's responsibility to move personal items out of the way to allow access to the carpet.
Electrical equipment including live extension cords will require relocation if the carpet in the vicinity is to be cleaned. Computers and other related hardware must be relocated from the carpet if the carpet in the general area is to be cleaned.
Pest Control (Flea Treatment)
The life cycle of fleas consists of: 1. eggs, 2. larva, 3. pupa, 4. adult. Due to the life cycle of fleas, flea treatment at end of lease can only kill currently live adult fleas and larva. Any pupa present are impervious to insecticides and are only killed once they hatch. The sprayed insecticide must remain undisturbed for at least 7–10 days to allow the chemicals to kill any newly hatched fleas.
Further infestation will require treatment, which can take up to 8 months, at additional cost. The cat flea is the most common type of flea and cannot breed or survive without a host animal. A fact sheet is provided to the customer for the new tenant. Post treatment responsibilities are unable to be guaranteed and therefore further treatment is the responsibility of the owner, property manager or the new tenant.
